Navratri the biggest festiv in hinduism

Navratri is nine Divine nights of Goddess Durga, Navratri is Sanskrit word, there are seasonal Navratri (Shardha Navratri, Ashvin Navratri, Gupt(secret) Navratri). People observed fasts on these nine days and worshipped Nav Durga(nine avatars of Durga). People chant Durga Sapatshati Path on During these days to please Durga Mata. In India  on the whole nine nights Ramlila

Ghat Sathapan or Kalash Sathapan must be done during Navratri, People invite Durga Mata in their houses for nine days of Navratri and observe fast, during fast some particular rules are followed by Hindus, Foods are consumed once in a day during Navratri-: buckwheat flour(buckwheat flour), water chestnut flour (singhare ka atta), Amaranth flour(rajgira ka atta), Barnyard millet(samak ke chawal, swak ke chawal, samvat ke chawal,samai ke chawal).
Fruits: Seasonal fruits
Herbs, Spices vegetables: Table salt is not allowed to use, Rock salt(Sendha namak) is used because this not contains Sodium Chloride. You can use cumin, cloves, cinnamon, black peppercorns, coriander. In veggies, tomato, potato, sweet potato, Fox nuts(Makkhanas), lemon, peanuts,semi-ripe pumpkin, some people also used carrots, cucumber, tamarind .milk and Milk products are also used. Only Peanut oil and Desi Ghee is allowed to cook food.
Onions, Garlic, Non-veg, Alcohol is strictly restricted in Fasts.  

Tulsi or holy basilv

Tulsi(Scared plant) is worshipped as a worshiper of Lord Vishnu or Lord Krishna. Tulsi means matchless, Her leaves always offered to Lord Vishnu & Krishna. Tulsi also called by different names.

  • Haripriya(beloved of Hari)

Tulsi Vivah is marrige ceremony of Tulsi Ji with Shaligram Stone(Vishnu). Tulsi Vivah celebrated between Prabodhini Ekadashi and Kartik Poornima. According to Hindu mythology or Hindu Puranas Tulsi was a girl named Varinda or Barnida who was married to a demon(asura) Jalandhra.who was defeated by Shiva somehow with the help of Lord Vishnu. Varinda cursed Lord Vishnu to separated from his wife Laxmi and become black coloured later on he was turned into black coloured Shaligram stone.
Tulsi leaves mixed with water considering as Charnaamrita( Charna Amrit) or Holly water. Tulsi plant always kept with Lord Krishna and Vishnu. Mainly Tulsi Known as Rama tulsi or Krishna Tulsi, purple colour is related with Krishna's dark colour. In Bhagwat Purana Tulsi considering as Avtar of Laxmi.



Saraswati the Goddess of music and education

Goddess Lakshmi also called Maha Saraswati. She is Part of Goddesses Trinity with Kali and Laxmi Mata. She is Devi of Education and Music, Knowledge, Art. She is God Brahma's consort. Maa Saraswati worshipped by different names (VANI, VACHI, BRAHMI, BRAHMNI etc.) she is also known as Goddess of Vedas. She is Indian Goddess of Music. Saraswati Mata often seated on white male Swan(Hamsa is sacred bird). She dressed in pure white which means light & SATWA GUNA or Purity. Her four hands holds Pustak(book), Mala(rosary), Veena(musical instrument) sometimes a Water Pot. Saraswati Mata also known as HAMASVAHINI. She is always located near the River. Savitri & Gayatri is also Saraswati's Avatar.
As she holds book this true and Divine Knowledge, Mala represents inner spirituality. She is worshipped in Nepal and Assam also. Saraswati Vandana is a most important mantra for worshipping her some other mantras are "Om Aim Hrim, Kleem Maha Saraswati Deyaya, Namaha", "Vad Vad Vaagwaadinee Swaaha".

Lakshmi the goddess of wealth and prosperity

Goddess Laxmi also called Mahalaxmi or Sri Devi. She is consort of Lord Vishnu and the Devi of wealth and prosperity.She is part of female trinity along with Devi Kali and Saraswati. Laxmi Mata was born from CHURNING OF THE OCEAN (Samudra Manthan). She is daughter of Samundra. When Lord Vishnu (Narayana) descended on the Earth as the Krishna & Rama, Laxmi descending as his consort. Maa Laxmi painted as a showering Golden-coloured woman with an owl as her vehicle. She holds lotus in her hand.
 "Goddess of wealth "stands or sits like a Yogin on a lotus pedestal. In Hinduism, Laxmi means "money".She used Elephant or Owl as her Vahana(Vehicle) The owl signifies the patient striving to observe, see and discover knowledge particularly when surrounded by darkness. She is shown as he has four Arms indicates four important role of Hindu Human life as Karma(  karma or work) Dharma(religion), Moksha(freedom), Artha(goal or purpose).
It is believed that if u kept standing Laxmi in your house this will brings Bad luck & misfortune for you. Idol of Goddess Laxmi always kept along with Lord Ganesha. They are always worshipped together in Indian on Festivals like Diwali,Shardh Purnima and Laxmi Pooja. She is also worshipped in Nepal, Japan with different names.



 Laxmi ji also worshiped with Lord Vishnu,according to Hindu mythology if u want to bring wealth and fortune in your life ,you should have to worship Lord vishnu. Laxmi ji worshipped with mantras like"Om Laxmi Narayne Namaha","Om Mahalaxmaye Namo Namah, Sri Vishnu priye Namo Namah, Om Dhanpardae Namo Namaha, Om vishavjananaye Namo Namaha". Goddess of wealth has diffrent names

As she is consort of Vishnu, She mostly shown in paintings sitting along with Lord Vishnu in Ocean. She is Shakti of  Lord Vishnu and also known as Narayani.As Goddess Laxmi emerged from ocean, conch and cowrie brings Lakshmi to you.

kali the goddess of anger and death

Kali is blackish or dark blue.kali also known as Kalratri, Mahakali, Kalika, Chamunda ,Bhadrakali, Dakshina kali etc.She is part of Goddess Trinity, she is Goddess of Destruction in  female trinity and the Devi of death and anger.She appears to destroys the Evils Energies.She is also Tantric Goddess.Kali especially worshiped in kolkata.Kali is Avtar of parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva although she is called as Shakti of Shiva,her appearance described in Devi Mahatmyam.

When Raktabija attacked on Devi Durga then she appears as Kali.Kali's hand carrying variously a Sword & Trishula, SKULL-CUP, catching the blood of the severed head . She is wearing Garland consisting of human heads. She is often represented naked or just wearing a skirt made of human arms or which means she is beyond from MAYA.Hindu Goddess Kali shown as Dark Blue or BLACK. Kali Maa is a Great protector. Mother of destruction wound the demon named RAKTABIJA. After defeating Demon Raktabija, Goddess was full of anger, she starts killing every creature on earth then only the Lord Shiva was laid in her path to stop her.
Hindu worshiped Mahakali in Navratri and Tantric(who use particular meditation,rituals to gain certain powers) worshiped her in Gupt Navratri(Secret Navratri) with the name of SHAMSHANA KALI. Some Kali mantras are "Om sri maha kalikayai Namaha" ,"Om Krim Kali" , "Saravmangal mangalye Shive Sarvarthsadhike. Sharnae Tryembke Gauri Narayani Namastute".

Brahma the Creator

Brahma is known as Self-born (Svayambhu) Hindu Deva, he is creator of the universe and most important part of Indian Trinity(Hindu Trimurti) he creates animals,plants, mountains everything that is natural in universe. He is also known by different also Chaturmukha (who has four face), Brahmanarayan (mixture of Vishnu & Brahma), Gyaneshwar( Deity of knowledge), Vedanath (God of Vedas).He has lesser importance as compare to Vishnu and Shiva the member of Hindu trinity. 
Brahmaloka or Satyaloka (is Garden of all kind of flowers) is located on mount Meru( in Tanzania).Brahma worshiped by "Om Nama Brahmanyei".He is always seated on Lotus flower and traveled on HAMSA or HAMSKUMARA ( white coloured bird also called HANSA). Brahma used Axe and Brhamashastra as his weapon, according to Hindu mythology says Brhamashastra can destroy the world.
He is consort of Goddess Laxmi. He worshiped on Diwali and Kartik purrnima. According to Dasam Garnth Brahma's Avatars known as Saptavtars:-

Various Avatars of Lord Vishnu


  • PARASHURAMA( The Worrier with Axe) 
Parashurama is the first Worrier saint and Brahman-Kshatriya. Once.Once Kartavirya king & his Army visit to Father of Parashurama at his Ashram.King demanded the Cow KAMADHENU but Parashurama mother JAMADAGNI refuses. The King took the Cow by force & destroyed the Ashram. In revenge Parashurama killed the King.In revenge the son of king Kartavirya killed Jamadagni. After that Parashurama take Vow to kill every Kashtriya and filled five lakes by their Blood. Parashurama is CHIRANJIVI(immortal).
  • RAMA 
Vishnu's Seventh Avtar is Rama. Rama killed Asura king RAVANA to save her wife.Rama is central figure of RAMAYANA. He is also known as Maryada Parshotum Ram.
  • BALRAMA
Balrama is avtar of Shesha Naag and elder brother of Lord Karishna. He is consider as eighth  Avtar of Lord Vishnu in Sri Vaishnava list.
  • KRISHNA      
Karishna is central Figure of Bhagvadgita and Mahabharta, Bhagvat Purana.He killed his Demon Uncle KANSA.
  • BUDDHA(Gautam Buddha)
He is founder of Buddhism. Basically he is teacher of AHIMSA (non-violence).
  • KALKI
Vishnu's Kalki Avatar has yet to be taken. KALKI AVATAR will appear to remove Adarma. He will ends the KALI YUGA to restart the SATYA YUGA

Incarnations of Lord Vishnu

 Matsya, Kurma, Varha, Narshimah, Vamana, Parshuram, Kasrishna, Rama, Budha, kalki are vishnu's incarnations (Dashavatars)

  • MATSYA  









Vishnu takes avatar in the form of Fish to save Manav or Childerns of manav from the Paralya.
  • KURMA    
kurma is Giant Tortoise.Vishnu takes this  avtar during Samundra Manthan(Churning  the ocean) to bear the weight of mountain.
  • VARAHA    
      






Vishnu appears as Boar to defeat Asura  Hiranyaksha. Demon Hiranyaksha had taken the mother Earth  into the bottom of Cosmic Ocean(According to Hindu mythology) . varaha won this battle & carried the earth between his Tusk and resored in the Universe.
  • NARASIMA 








Narasima Is in  the form of Part Man & Part of Lion.The Rakshaa  HIRANYAKASHIPU was gained special powers(Vardana) by God of Creation  BRAHMA by which he couldn't be Killed by Man or Animal,by God or Demon,Inside or Outside,during Day or Night. That's why VISHNU adapts Avatar i.e neither Man not Animal then he killed the Demon at the courtyard with his claws when he lay on his thighs.
  • VAMANA (dwarf)
Vishnu takes avtar as VAMANA to defeat Asura king MAHABALI creativly. VAMANA went to BALI and promise him for wetever he asked.Vamana demand for three paces of land & BALI agreed and then Vamana increase his size.First he steeped over Heaven & second in netherworld . Bali feels Vamana was vishnu Avatar.Then King Bali offered his head as a Third place.Dwarf  place his foot on Bali';s  head.
