Navratri the biggest festiv in hinduism

Navratri is nine Divine nights of Goddess Durga, Navratri is Sanskrit word, there are seasonal Navratri (Shardha Navratri, Ashvin Navratri, Gupt(secret) Navratri). People observed fasts on these nine days and worshipped Nav Durga(nine avatars of Durga). People chant Durga Sapatshati Path on During these days to please Durga Mata. In India  on the whole nine nights Ramlila

  1. Shailputri
  2. Brahmacharini
  3. Chandraghanta
  4. Kushmanda
  5. Skandmata
  6. Katyayani
  7. Kalratri
  8. Mahagauri
  9. Siddhidatri
Ghat Sathapan or Kalash Sathapan must be done during Navratri, People invite Durga Mata in their houses for nine days of Navratri and observe fast, during fast some particular rules are followed by Hindus, Foods are consumed once in a day during Navratri-: buckwheat flour(buckwheat flour), water chestnut flour (singhare ka atta), Amaranth flour(rajgira ka atta), Barnyard millet(samak ke chawal, swak ke chawal, samvat ke chawal,samai ke chawal).
Fruits: Seasonal fruits
Herbs, Spices vegetables: Table salt is not allowed to use, Rock salt(Sendha namak) is used because this not contains Sodium Chloride. You can use cumin, cloves, cinnamon, black peppercorns, coriander. In veggies, tomato, potato, sweet potato, Fox nuts(Makkhanas), lemon, peanuts,semi-ripe pumpkin, some people also used carrots, cucumber, tamarind .milk and Milk products are also used. Only Peanut oil and Desi Ghee is allowed to cook food.
Onions, Garlic, Non-veg, Alcohol is strictly restricted in Fasts.
