Lakshmi the goddess of wealth and prosperity

Goddess Laxmi also called Mahalaxmi or Sri Devi. She is consort of Lord Vishnu and the Devi of wealth and prosperity.She is part of female trinity along with Devi Kali and Saraswati. Laxmi Mata was born from CHURNING OF THE OCEAN (Samudra Manthan). She is daughter of Samundra. When Lord Vishnu (Narayana) descended on the Earth as the Krishna & Rama, Laxmi descending as his consort. Maa Laxmi painted as a showering Golden-coloured woman with an owl as her vehicle. She holds lotus in her hand.
 "Goddess of wealth "stands or sits like a Yogin on a lotus pedestal. In Hinduism, Laxmi means "money".She used Elephant or Owl as her Vahana(Vehicle) The owl signifies the patient striving to observe, see and discover knowledge particularly when surrounded by darkness. She is shown as he has four Arms indicates four important role of Hindu Human life as Karma(  karma or work) Dharma(religion), Moksha(freedom), Artha(goal or purpose).
It is believed that if u kept standing Laxmi in your house this will brings Bad luck & misfortune for you. Idol of Goddess Laxmi always kept along with Lord Ganesha. They are always worshipped together in Indian on Festivals like Diwali,Shardh Purnima and Laxmi Pooja. She is also worshipped in Nepal, Japan with different names.



 Laxmi ji also worshiped with Lord Vishnu,according to Hindu mythology if u want to bring wealth and fortune in your life ,you should have to worship Lord vishnu. Laxmi ji worshipped with mantras like"Om Laxmi Narayne Namaha","Om Mahalaxmaye Namo Namah, Sri Vishnu priye Namo Namah, Om Dhanpardae Namo Namaha, Om vishavjananaye Namo Namaha". Goddess of wealth has diffrent names

  3. Dhairya Laxmi
  4. Gaja Laxmi
  5. Santhana Laxmi
  6. Vijaya Laxmi

  8. Dhana Laxmi
As she is consort of Vishnu, She mostly shown in paintings sitting along with Lord Vishnu in Ocean. She is Shakti of  Lord Vishnu and also known as Narayani.As Goddess Laxmi emerged from ocean, conch and cowrie brings Lakshmi to you.
